ADMISSION POLICIES
Freshmen
1. The student must be able to satisfy the MSU SASE / CET requirement as determined by each campus.
2. The student must pass the system qualifying examination for BSA program. Each campus determines its passing score as well as other admission requirements. The system qualifying examination shall cover the specialized subjects of the Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) strand of the Academic Track of the Senior High School Program. To prepare the students, each campus may offer a voluntary bridging program. To attain a smooth, effective and efficient program, each campus may adopt implementing rules and regulations.
Shiftees
1. The student must satisfy the entry grade requirement as determined by the Department of Accountancy of each campus.
2. The student must pass the system qualifying examination for BSA program. Each campus determines its passing score as well as other admission requirements. Transferees
1. The student must be able to satisfy the MSU SASE/ CET requirement as determined by each campus.
2. The student must satisfy the entry grade requirement as determined by the Department of Accountancy of each campus.

Common to all students (freshmen, shiftees and transferees):
1. Student must adhere to the admission procedures specified by the Office of the Campus Registrar and the Office of the Admissions and Scholarship.
2. The Department may add other requirements not contrary to University policy, as it deems necessary, to ensure smooth and quality admission.
RETENTION POLICY
To be retained in the program the student must enroll only once and pass in ACT110, the first accounting subject, after which the student is allowed to repeat only once in Accounting, Auditing, Business Law and Taxation subjects, subject to the Minimum Residency Requirement (MRR) of the Institute.
FOR FRESHMEN
The student must satisfy the MSU SASE/CET requirements as determined by the offering Department of the respective campuses.
The student must meet the Department’s cut-off score for the College Qualifying Exam and pass the Department interview.
A Senior High School graduate who has pursued other strands under the academic track (e.g. HUMMS, STEM) and other tracks (e.g. TVL, GAS) will be encouraged to take bridging program to be at par with ABM graduates and in compliance with CMO No. 17 Series 2017. Bridging classes taken from other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) will also be credited.
The student should submit a photocopy of the following documents upon application for admission to the program:
(a) SASE result
(b) Senior High School Report Card
(c) Certificate of Good Moral Character
(d) NSO Certified Birth Certificate
(e) Copies 2 x 2 ID picture (latest photo)
(f) Filled out Department Admission Form/Personal Information Sheet
The student must adhere to the admission procedure specified by the Office of the University Registrar and the Office of Admission.
FOR TRANSFEREES
The student must satisfy the MSU SASE/CET requirement as determined by the offering Department of the respective campuses.
The student must meet the Department’s cut-off score for the College Qualifying Exam and pass the Department interview.
A Senior High School graduate who has pursued other strands under the academic track (e.g. HUMMS, STEM) and other tracks (e.g. TVL, GAS) will be encouraged to take bridging program to be at par with ABM graduates and in compliance with CMO No. 17 Series 2017. Bridging classes taken from other HEIs will also be credited.

FOR SHIFTERS
The shifting policy if the University will be adopted.
The student must meet the Department’s cut-off score for the College Qualifying Exam and pass the Department interview.

FOR FRESHMEN
Must be a baccalaureate passer with SASE rating of 80% or better or must have passed all the three (3) subjects required: English, Math, and Values Education in the College Bound Program (CBP).
Duly filled out personal Data Sheets (PDS), department application form with 2x2 ID Picture and attach high school report card.
Must have passed the two-phase department qualifying examination (written and oral) with the designated department admission officers.
FOR SHIFTERS AND TRANSFEREES
No failing grade in any two (2) subjects and must have a CGPA of at least 2.50.
Duly filled out Personal Data Sheets (PDS), department application form with 2x2 ID Picture and attach high school report card.
Must have passed the two-phase department qualifying examination (written and oral) with the designated department admission officers.
RETENTION POLICY
Students must have no failing grade in more than 2 subjects in one semester.
There shall be no failing grade in any major subject.
A CGPA of not less than 2.50.
In case of failure to meet the above retention policies, the subject shall be advised to shift. However, he/she may be adopted by the department on the first failure for one semester provided that he/she submits a promissory letter stating his/her intent to improve his/her academic performance which shall be signed by the parent or guardian and the concerned student. It shall then be approved by the adviser, chairperson and the dean.
In an event when the student fails again which is consecutive to the adopted semester, he/she shall be forced to shift.

The student must adhere to the admission procedure specified by the Office of the University Registrar and the Office of Admission.
FOR SHIFTEES
The shifting policy of the university will be adopted.
Shiftee from other colleges must pass the Qualifying Exam and interview and must take the bridging courses prior to admission to the program to prepare and make them at par with those who have taken the ABM academic strand and in compliance with K-12 requirements.
The student from within the college need only to pass the assessment test and interview set by the respective department.
The student must satisfy the grade requirement as determined by the offering Department of the respective campuses.
RETENTION POLICY
Retention Policies of the University shall be adopted.
FOR FRESHMEN
1. Students must have pursued an Accountancy, Business and Management strand under the Academic Track in Senior High School.
2. Students who have pursued other strands under the Academic Track (e.g., HUMSS, STEM, GAS) and other tracks (e.g., TechVoc) in Senior High School shall be admitted to the program provided that they will have to take bridging courses and have to demonstrate the competencies needed upon entry to the program.
3. Students must have garnered a score in the MSU SASE that satisfies the cut-off score stipulated by the host Department of the respective campuses.
4. Students should submit upon application for admission to the program the following documents:
(a) Senior High School Report Card
(b) Honourable Dismissal
(c) NSO Certified Birth Certificate
(d) SASE result showing the student has satisfied the cut-off score stipulated by the host Department of the respective campuses
(e) Filled out Department Admission Form/Personal Information Sheet
(f) Other documents required by the Office of the Registrar and Office of the Admission and Scholarships
5. Students must adhere to the admission procedure specified by the Office of the Campus Registrar and the Office of the Admissions and Scholarships.
6. The Department may add other requirements, as it deems necessary, to ensure smooth and quality admission of freshmen, shifter and other transferee students.
FOR SHIFTEE
1. Students must have garnered a score in the MSU SASE that satisfies the cut-off score stipulated by the host Department of the respective campuses.
2. Students must take bridging courses and have to demonstrate the competencies needed upon entry to the program.
3. Students must undergo and pass a panel interview.
4. Students must adhere to the admission procedure specified by the Office of the Campus Registrar and the office of the Admissions and Scholarships.
5. The Department of Marketing may add other requirements, as it deems necessary, to ensure smooth and quality admission of freshmen, shifter and transferee students.
RETENTION POLICIES
For students to be retained in the program, he or she should satisfy the following conditions set forth in the Institute Retention Policy and in accordance with the principles of Outcomes Based Education (OBE).
