Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember.
Involve me and I learn.
-Benjamin Franklin
Welcome to my online portfolio! I am so excited to share my website with you! I have been a teacher for 10 years, teaching both English and Spanish to elementary students. I taught English to native Spanish speakers in Mexico for a year, 4 years of elementary Spanish immersion, and the past 5 years I have taught reading interventions to struggling elementary students in grades K-4. For the past 3 years I have been working on my Master of Arts in Foreign Language Teaching through Michigan State University. I have two children of my own and love to travel, connect, and learn!
This online portfolio contains artifacts that I have created to demonstrate how I have synthesized my learning and developed my language teaching skills throughout my education and career. Language learning has always been a passion of mine, I studied abroad in college, was a language camp counselor, and lived abroad after college to teach. Teaching has also always been a passion and I will use the philosophies and ideas displayed in this website to encourage students to become global citizens through language learning. I believe that you should never stop learning and growing, so this website can only be a snapshot of what I have learned so far. It will be ever-changing as my experiences change and shape the way I teach. Enjoy!
