I enrolled in the MAFLT program to gain the credentials and skills to defend my teaching using research and pedagogical theories. For this reason I chose to do action research for my Experiential Module. Students at my school receive classroom instruction using a method called Teaching with Comprehensible Input (TCI) often referred to as Comprehensible Input (CI). Students took the ACTFL Assessment of Performane toward Proficienty in Languages (AAPPL) test for Interpersonal Speaking and Listening. For my action research I compared our schools results with that of the county as a whole and got student feedback about the perception of the teaching style. Students from my school scored the same as students in the county overall but showed a strong preference for TCI instruction over traditional classroom language teaching. Below you can find the paper itself as well as a video summarizing the results of my research.
