Kaila Hower, is entering her fifth year as a full-time Learning Specialist and her eighth year overall with Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS). She works with student-athletes on academic skills and strategies, teaches content in academic sessions, is a liaison to the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities Office (RCPD), and currently runs the Learning Assistant program.
Prior to joining SASS full time, Kaila served as a Learning Assistant, Student-Athlete Support Services Intern, Learning Specialist Graduate Assistant/Assistant Learning Specialist within SASS; worked as a student supervisor in the Residence Education and Housing Services department; and taught undergraduate activity courses in the department of Kinesiology.
Kaila earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Psychology from Michigan State University. She also earned her Master of Science degree from Michigan State University in Kinesiology specializing in Psychosocial Aspects of Sport and Physical Activity. As well as, her Master of Arts in Education degree specializing in Technology and Learning and Learning & P-12 School and Postsecondary Leadership from Michigan State University.
Kaila is from Marion, Michigan and enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children.
