Technology Evidence

Technology provides plenty of affordances for the world language classroom that were not available just one decade ago. Today, we have unprecedented access to authentic materials, and applications that make collaboration and communication between students easier than ever. Interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational skills can be strengthened with meaningful activities that take place on students' devices. Whether it's speaking and listening on the application Extempore, processing input with applications such as Blooket, Kahoot, Quizlet, and Pear Deck, or organizing course materials on Google Classroom, the 21st century world language classroom must make strong use of technology.

Below, read about a technology-enhanced unit relating to the AP thematic unit on Environmental Challenges that I developed during the MAFLT course on Technology for FL Teaching. Then, see a link to the Google Classroom page where the module is hosted. Finally, watch a quick demonstration video that shows how technology can be used to engage Novices.
