Seal of Biliteracy Testing: Student Perspectives

My study aimed to take a deep dive into student perspectives of Seal of Biliteracy (SoBL) testing. Through my experiential module, I was able to describe students' general anxiety levels and perceptions of preparedness before and after test administration, analyze how students felt about different parts of the test, and examine the impact of assessment results on their identities as language learners.

In the study, I made use of questionnaire and survey data from students regarding anxiety levels, test preparedness, and self-perceptions both before and after test administration; and semi-structured interviews with a subset of students who took the AAPPL assessment.
