You speak Spanish?
My language proficiency developed over many years through distinct stages of my life. As a young student, I loved my Spanish classes and I have clear memories of attempting to improvise and play with the language. The grammar I learned in those classes formed the foundation for communication at my first job, where I met native Spanish speakers and began to interact on a daily basis. During those three years, I developed a fluency and communicative competence that would pique my interest in language learning. Years later as a Spanish major, I had a crash course in academic vocabulary and literary analysis which helped to hone my skills in preparation for the teaching profession. In my ten years in the teaching profession, I have continued to develop in all aspects of my Spanish proficiency as acquiring and learning Spanish, comparing it to English, and sharing it with others gives me great joy.
