Curriculum Design
For my EM, I created three units that focused on incorporating the concepts of intercultural competence, authentic materials, and reading strategies to enhance reading instruction. The first unit, Afrolatinos, helps students to recognize influential afrolatinos and their impact on Cuba and the United States. Units two and three are built around novels. The second unit focus on Bullfighting in Spain and fairy tales while the third unit studies the Dirty War and protests.
