This page of my website is all about my classroom and the processes, philosophies, and information that I give to parents and students at the beginning of the year. I try to hold true to these beliefs during the year and hold myself and the students accountable to the information given. Feel free to click on the items below and see what I share with my students and parents before the school year starts to help them get familiar with what to expect during the year, and familiar with me.
These are all items I have used over the past few years. They all serve different purposes. You can read a bit more about each item below:
Introduction Letter.pdf
Welcome Letter: The letter with the globe on top is the letter that I previously used to introduce myself to my parents and students. I would put this out at open house for parents.
Meet Your New Teacher: This document is what I use now as an introduction document for parents and students. I used less content and put things that would be interesting to parents and students. This document goes home at open house.
Class expectations: these are the rules and expectations I set for my class every year. I teach these processes at the beginning of the year and we practice. I also put a copy of this in my substitute folder so that visiting teachers know my processes.
Video: This is a video that plays at open house. It details the important information that parents would need to know including, grading practices, specials schedules, contact information and content covered. I also send home a hard copy of this presentation the first week of school.
