I began learning English in middle school where I fell in love with the language. I took English as a foreign language for 4 years in high school and then I got accepted to study Education and Language Teaching at Universidad Industrial de Santander. Working through my undergraduate degree I took Linguistics, Syntax, Phonetics and Phonology courses that helped me understand and perfect my English language skills.
Before earning my BA I decided to travel to the USA in order to gain fluency and better my pronunciation. I took English, Communication and Leadership classes at College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, NV. Furthermore, I got the opportunity to learn about American culture and their traditions.
After 2 years of active learning in the US, I went back to my home country Colombia and graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts in Education and Language Teaching. Right after graduation, I began my teaching journey at UIS teaching English as a Foreign Language.
4 years later, I decided to go back to the US where I became a certified language teacher. I currently teach Spanish (my native language) to elementary and middle school students at a charter school in Las Vegas, NV.
