My teaching philosophy is the result of many years of experience both in the US and in my native country. My first years as a teacher took place in Colombia. As I worked at a public university, the access to the newest technologies was fairly limited and all teachers had to follow a strict schedule that told us exactly in what dates we could work with those technologies as turns had to be assigned to allow equal opportunities to all teachers/students to have the have access to these technological tools to foster their learning. Now, I am fortunate enough to live in this magnificent country (US) and have access to a plethora of tools that present students with endless opportunities to strengthen their learning.
The essay below presents key principles that I use to guide my language teaching and also explains how I carry out those principles in my classroom.
