For my second Experiential Module I looked at concepts surrounding building and sustaining virtual community. I then used my perspective as a MAFLT student and student worker to identify how the MAFLT program supports their community and to offer suggestions for improvements. Students in online programs require support and desire community. It is important for programs to build systems that provide this support and allow for community development. In the following presentation, I discuss some important tenants surrounding online community and student support and illustrate how they are embodied by the MAFLT Program.
