Requesting a Recommendation
My Colleges > Docs
Under Letters of Recommendation, click + New Request
Type in the name of the teacher. If they aren't listed, please let your counselor know.
Choose the Type of Recommendation.
**we suggest selecting general recommendation since they can be used across all colleges**
"General Recommendation": can be used for multiple colleges
"College-Specific": can only be used for that specific college
Tracking Your Letter - Letter Status and What They Mean
Ranking Recommendations
Ranking lets you set a preferred order for your teacher recommendations. After submitting letter recommendation requests, you'll be prompted to rank.
Use the arrows to arrange your recommendations in your preferred order, then click save.
For example:
Emma is ranked #1
Janet is ranked #2
Luke is ranked #3
Test Optional and Test Required
Testing policies differ from institution to institution.
To see a college's policy, go to their profile page under the "Admissions" tab. Look under "Application Deadlines and Details".
Test Optional
Colleges with test optional policies do not require submission of test scores for your application. This means, you have can choose if you'd like to submit your SAT/ACT scores.
Choose whether you intend to apply Test Optional.
Test Blind (or Test Free)
Colleges who are test blind do not allow submission of scores as part of your application
