Students who do not earn a high school diploma while enrolled in a New Jersey high school can obtain one via an alternate path. There are two high school equivalency tests approved by the United States Department of Education and the New Jersey State Board of Education.
General Educational Development Test
Test designed for those who did not graduate from high school but want a equivalent to the traditional high school diploma
Accepted by employers and accredited colleges in all 50 of the United States

Tuition-free program to assist with obtaining a high school diploma through the GED/HiSET and/or by attaining up to 30 college credits
Young Adult Career Initiative prepares Burlington County out-of-school young adults, ages 16-24, to reach their educational and career goals
Assistance with finding employment, enrolling in a high school equivalency diploma program, enrolling in a training certification program or college, or enlisting in the military
No-cost program
Eligibility: 16-24 year-old Burlington County resident and not currently enrolled in school (high school or college)
