Take a career assessment! Naviance, a college, career, and life-readiness platform is available to all students. Students will be able to take different "Self-Discovery" assessments including a Career Cluster Finder and Career Interest Profiler as well as explore different careers and colleges/universities. Talk to your counselor about Naviance!
Update your resume: Even if you don't have much work experience, it's still a good idea to bring a resume to the career fair. Include any relevant coursework, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or other experiences that demonstrate your skills and interests. Our wonderful counseling website has many great resources for resume building and job searches. Go to Career and College Planning > Employment.
Be open-minded: While it's great to have specific interests and goals, try to keep an open mind and explore a variety of options at the career fair. You never know what opportunities might arise or what you might learn from talking to different representatives.
Research participating organizations: Find out which companies, colleges, and organizations will be attending the career fair. Research their backgrounds, the types of jobs or programs they offer, and any specific opportunities they might have for high school students.

At the upcoming high school career fair, students will have the opportunity to participate in mock interviews designed to simulate real-world job application scenarios. Through these simulated experiences, students will gain valuable insights into the expectations of employers, refine their communication abilities, and learn how to present themselves effectively. Constructive feedback provided by interviewers will help students identify areas for improvement and build confidence in their ability to navigate future job interviews. These mock interviews serve as an essential preparation step for students as they transition from high school to the workforce, equipping them with the skills and confidence necessary for success in their future careers!
