Starting in 2000, the community internship program has provided over 320 high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to gain exposure and real work experiences within local businesses. Internships help students learn more about their career options, engage with local businesses, meet community leaders, increase aspirations, and discover future education and training options.
Students typically complete their intership over the entier school year and earn credit based upon the number of hours served and review of their work. Internships have been completed in a variety of local businesses, including Norway Veterinary Hospital, Healthy Oxford Hills, Chamber of Commerce, TruStrength Athletics, Hidden Brook Farms, Rowe Elementary, Towanda's Cafe, Oxford Police Department, Norway Police Department, and more.
Students or businesses interested in learning more should contact ohcee@msad17.org for more information.
