Visual art has been a passion since childhood, especially drawing and painting. Rick grew up in the small town of Burley, Idaho where there was little art education in the schools. As a teacher, he would like to give students the opportunity to have the middle school art class that he wished he could have had as an adolescent. Rick studied studio art at the University of Utah and completed a master’s degree in Painting from Boston University. He also studied Art Education at Brooklyn College. He has lived in Brooklyn since 2006.
When not teaching, making artwork, or frequenting art galleries, Rick enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities like biking, running, and hiking. Rick is also the proud father of a 8 year old boy who ensures that there is never a dull moment.
