Record Amounts of Snow Hit New York

On both January 23rd, and February 26th New York City had huge amounts of snow, causing mayor Mamdani to first declare a remote learning day, and then declare a real snow day! This is the first real snow day in 7 years, and both days let students have fun in the snow and relax instead of going to school in the snow.
Zohran's New Policies

Mayor Mamdani’s inauguration was on January 1, 2026. He was sworn in front of 4,000 people inside the gates and 40,000 people outside in freezing temperatures to bear witness for the historical day. He was sworn in by Senator Bernie Sanders, the most widely known Democratic Socialist. Some of what he talked about in his inauguration speech included lowering child care prices, free buses and freezing rent for some tenants in New York City. He promised to tax richer residents to pay for this.

LIDL Review

LIDL, a German supermarket opened near MS 447 on December 10, 2025. Lidl isn’t an ordinary supermarket. It is known for having discounted prices compared to the average supermarket. Ever since it opened LIDL has been hugely popular for good reason. It's very close to our school, has very good prices that can rival even a corner store, and has very good quality products.

The Advertising Empire

As of late February, Paramount has seemingly won a big negotiation with Warner Bros Discovery against Netflix over who would merge with Warner Bros Discovery. With this merger, Paramount will acquire one of the biggest companies in the film industry, and could become a corporate giant.
Initially, Paramount offered $30 per share/ $101 billion for Warner Bros Discovery. At the time, a much bigger streaming service, Netflix, offered $27.75 a share/ 82.7 billion for Warner Bros Discovery’s films and assets.
