For 51 years, Xisong has been pursuing excellence. All faculty members are working towards our vision: “Join Xisong, Embrace the World.” We are not content with what we have accomplished. We want to keep refining ourselves to produce talents for the future. As World Economic Forum points out, talents in the future must be equipped with five abilities, which are the abilities to have cross-cultural understanding, to communicate and collaborate, to address global issues, to teach themselves and think critically, and to quickly adapt to changes. Xisong is helping students build these skills so they can be competitive in the future.
Parents, students and teachers have all expressed their anxiety over the government’s curriculum guidelines for 2019. In fact, the key concept of the 2019 guidelines is “learning by doing.” Like Steve Jobs said, “You’ve got to find what you love.” Students will explore, find their niches and become champions of what they do. And that’s how students are going to have splendid futures.
Physicist Albert Einstein and former Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, were both known to be dyslexic, but they found what they loved, devoted themselves to it, and eventually achieved greatness. Winston Churchill, former Prime Minister of the UK, also said it well: “Never give in, never give in, never, never, never.”
Globalization is unstoppable, and for students to become global citizens with global viewpoints, they have to understand, respect, and embrace the multicultural society. They have to think creatively, reflect upon themselves, and stay abreast of what is going on around the globe. At Xisong, we do not just want our children to get high scores. We also want them to widen their views, and have the confidence to face challenges and difficulties and say “I can do it.” Our omnipotent team at Xisong has been well prepared for the 2019 guidelines, so students can just follow them and study in an environment where they can be focused, happy, and successful in learning and in life.
The core value of Xisong is “Human-centered, humanity-based.” The vision of Xisong is “Developing 5C,” which stands for curiosity, creativity, culture, collaboration, and communication. The core value and the vision have worked together as the foundation on which we build students’ competence. Also, we guide our students to “Follow the course map and face the future,” which has been an existing objective in mind. With this strategy and direction, our teachers and students will eventually fulfill the new vision of “Join Xisong, embrace the world.”
That is to say, we believe the core value of education should be student learning, and the foundation of education should be humane care. With that belief, we conduct moral education, enhance teaching quality, and thereby build our quality brand name.
And we seek to provide students with a quiet, clean, and motivating learning environment, so they can learn to control themselves, respect others, and love the world.
1. Quiet: so students can think about themselves, plan their careers, and explore their talents.
2. Clean: so students can grow up in an environment that can breed a pure mind and care for the world.
3. Motivating: so students can boost their competitiveness, and have never-ending passion for life.
Thank you all for your faith and support for Xisong. I expect there to be good communication between our teachers/parents and students, and thereby building a win-win situation for all. That is how we can make tomorrow better for Xisong.
