About the Program
Kaohsiung Municipal San Min Vocational High School (SMVHS) has implemented a bilingual education program aligned with the Ministry of Education's bilingual policy. The initiative focuses on integrating English language instruction across several donmains, with special emphasis on Physical Education and Health and Nursing education. Through professional learning communities (PLCs), workshops, and international exchanges, SMVHS is graually creating an innovative bilingual learning environment.
The program utilizes task-based learning, CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) methodology, and leverages digital tools to enhance student engagement. Teachers regularly participate in professional development to improve their bilingual teaching strategies and share effective practices.
The faculty at SMVHS participates in regular workshops and PLCs to develop their bilingual teaching skills. These collaborative sessions help teachers implement effective strategies for content delivery in both Chinese and English, particularly in specialized areas like PE.
