Thank you for taking the time to review and finish off our Linear Relations unit! The next unit we are going to look at is Scales and Similar Shapes, but before we start working with scales we are going to take this week to review unit conversions. Work through the following 3 ASSIGNMENTS at your own pace but make sure you finish before Week 6 starts so you don't fall behind.
If at any point you need help or have a question sign on to my OPTIONAL Zoom meetings. This week our meetings will be Monday to Friday between 12pm and 12:30pm (with an option to stay on longer if needed). I will be sitting online waiting to answer your questions. You will be able to privately ask me questions by typing in the chat feature of Zoom, so don't be shy and sign on if you want to watch me go over any questions students have or to ask your own question.

Assignment 1 - Converting Metric Units
Watch the following video to see two different methods of converting and comparing units
After watching the video lesson visit the link below. DO NOT make an account. It will cut you off after 10 questions daily but that's okay it's just for practice. Make sure you look at the explanation for any incorrect answers to help you prepare for future questions.
Yes, I know we typically use metric measurements (mm, cm, m, km) here in Canada but in construction and many other places it is still common to see feet, inches etc. So it is important to know how to work with these units as well.
Watch the video lesson below:
Give the Khan practice questions a try. Make sure to click on "US customary measurement reference sheet" below each question so you can see how to convert these units. Give the questions your best shot, some of them are tricky, but this is just for practice.
If needed make sure you rewatch the video lessons above. You will be provided with the unit conversions needed to answer each question. After you submit make sure you look over your questions for any mistakes.
