Math 8 - Week 6

May 11-15th

Thank you for taking the time to complete our percentage unit. It was a lot of fun to go through what you would buy on your shopping spree assignment. The next concepts we are going to look at are Mean, Median and Mode. These words likely sound familiar and should be a review. It is a nice and short unit and we will complete it this week. Work through the following 3 ASSIGNMENTS at your own pace but make sure you finish before Week 7 starts so you don't fall behind.

If at any point you need help or have a question sign on to my OPTIONAL Zoom meetings. This week our meetings will be Monday to Friday between 12pm and 12:30pm (with an option to stay on longer if needed). I will be sitting online waiting to answer your questions. You will be able to privately ask me questions by typing in the chat feature of Zoom, so don't be shy and sign on if you want to watch me go over any questions students have or to ask your own question.

Assignment 1 - Intro to Mean Median & Mode

To find MEAN - we add all of the numbers then divide by how many numbers there were

To find MEDIAN - we list the numbers from lowest to highest and find the middle value

To find MODE - we find the number we see most often

To find RANGE (not included in the video) - we subtract the biggest and smallest numbers

After watching the video lesson in Assignment 1 visit the link below. DO NOT make an account. It will cut you off after 10 questions daily but that's okay it's just for practice. Make sure you look at the explanation for any incorrect answers to help you prepare for future questions.
