Math 8 - Week 1

April 6-9th

This week our focus will be on gaining confidence with the programs we will be using online as we reconnect. There are 4 assignments you should complete by next week below. While using the new programs you will let me know how you have been the last few weeks, review some math concepts we covered before the break and share with me any feedback you have on these new resources. I'm excited to connect with each of you again! The goal is to start off nice and slow so let me know if you need any help or become overwhelmed. We are going to focus on getting signed up to Zoom & Khan Academy and these should be the only sign ins you will need for the rest of this class.

Each week you can work through the assignments at your own pace. You can finish them all one day if you would like or spread it out over the week. But to make sure you don't fall behind make sure you complete each week before the next week starts!

Assignment 1: Sign up to Zoom and sign in to one of the four daily chats. THURSDAY's ZOOM HAS BEEN MOVED UNTIL 1 PM so I can attend another meeting

Please don't worry if you weren't able to sign in to Zoom this week. It's just good to get used to Zoom incase you have a question to ask me.

Assignment 2: Follow the steps to sign up and join your class on Khan Academy

See the "Help Assessing Resources" tab to find step by step instructions to get you set up on your proper class on Khan Academy.

Your class code depends on your block. Copy the proper code into the class code box:

Complete the set up as requested.

Assignment 3: In the future you will receive an email/notification when I assign something on Khan academy. This week I will just provide you with links until we are all set up.

** This is just for fun if you find it frustrating give it your best shot and then move on to the next step, just have fun with it!

*If you need a challenge keep going but the idea is just to get familiar with the program this week! The nice thing about Khan Academy is you can go through and work on whatever you would like and I can see what you have completed!

Assignment 4: Complete the Google worksheet below. Always be sure to include your block and name or else I wont know that you submitted your worksheet.
