The Guinn Center presents a new and exciting *Free* educational program for students in grades 5-9. The Junior Engineer Program is focused on encouraging students to explore STEM, and get interested in the field of Engineering. Younger students are welcome to attend and try!
Together, MRG Labs and Guinn Center developed a special certification that is only awarded to individuals who complete all the engineering challenges such as but not limited to:
Construct a bridge and successfully bear weight. Who's bridge will hold the most the longest?
Build a water pump and successful create pressure - who can make the best functioning fountain?
Watch a live 3D print demo and assist with actual prints - who will learn the most about this skill?
Talk with an Engineer (optional but encouraged) - chat 1:1 with real engineers from different fields.
Upon completing each challenge, the student will receive a token of completion. Then, once all challenges are achieved, the student will officially become a Certified Junior Engineer. These certifications are badges of honor signifying their ability to solve problems, think outside the box, and embrace STEM.
The Junior Engineer Program workshops are facilitated by MRG Labs, a renowned nonprofit focused on improving access to STEM education and mentorship.Â
