Hello from the Health Room!
In accordance with Nebraska State Statute, #173 NAC 7, Millard Public Schools is required to provide a health screening that includes a dental, vision, and hearing screening as well as weight and height. The health room will be doing a full screening on students in Pre-K through 4th grade. Kindergartners will only be screened for the items missing on their Kindergarten Physicals. You do have the option to opt your child(ren) out of the screening process. The health room will be able to take a written or verbal decision; however, there is a form that needs to be filled out and signed by a physician as well. Contact Katie Kintzle, MPS District Head Nurse, at kakintzle@mpsomaha.org with questions.
Parent Volunteers:
Only designated adults assisting with the party activities will be permitted in the classrooms. Volunteers must be pre-registered with the office via the Sign Up Genius to attend the party. We will open doors 2 and 3 for parent volunteers to begin checking in 1:55 p.m. Parents will be able to head to classrooms at 2:05 p.m.
Parent volunteers will host a party for students in their classrooms immediately following the parade.
Details specific to the Fall Celebration:
ALL parents are welcome to view the outside portion of the parade. The parade will begin at 2:15 p.m. and travel in an indoor and outdoor pre-planned route on the blacktop area in the southwest corner of the school. Children are not to wear costumes to school; they will change independently prior to the start of the parade.
Important Information about Costumes:
Costumes must not be offensive to others; the audience is 4-12 year olds.
No weapons or weapon look-alikes.
No spraying of hair or makeup is to be applied at school.
Students are not required to wear costumes.
Students may be excused from the celebration and parents may check out the student from the office at 2:10 p.m. prior to the celebration starting.
Week of October 27th - 31st
This week Mrs. Kuhl will meet with the Intermediate students in grades 3, 4, 5. Students will continue to focus on feelings, coping skills, and how to help oneself or a friend. These lessons will focus on how emotions can put us in more than one zone at one time. We will expand our vocabulary when describing the emotions we are feeling. One strategy they will explore is a "Feelings Wheel"
*NEW* Parents with Heart PTO will be updating this website with event information, volunteer sign-up, funding and budget information, and more! Feel free to bookmark this and check it out. It will also be featured in the Regal Eagle newsletter.
Check out the lost and found! All items will be donated at the end of the month!
