The PSAT is a shortened version of the SAT college entrance exam. The PSAT measures what students learn in high school and what they need to succeed in college, including verbal, mathematical and writing skills. For juniors, it serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT). Click here for more information about the PSAT/NMSQT. The exam is optional and considered practice for high performing freshman and sophomores. National Merit Student Guide
All sophomores will take the Pre-ACT to gain knowledge of college readiness and to meet graduation requirements.
All students take the ACT in the spring of their Junior year of high school as it is required by the state of Nebraska. The scores from this test can be used to meet benchmarks required by the district to graduate. Colleges may use a student's ACT score for admission and for awarding scholarships. See the ACT website for more information.
ACT scores are not included on high school transcripts. Colleges require score reports from the ACT. Students will create an account on the ACT website and request scores to be sent to desired colleges. There is a fee to do this. To avoid a fee for sending scores, students may select colleges during the ACT registration process.
