BUZZ BOOK ORDERS!
The Buzz Book is open for orders for 2025!
The Grace Abbott AVT provides a directory each year called the Buzz Book. The cost is $5.00 per school year which can be paid on the Buzz Book Website or to the school office (order online and select Pay Offline later). Buying a Buzz Book gives you online directory access as well as a printed copy that will print in October.
Please go to the website: https://graceabbottpto.membershiptoolkit.com/
- Update or Add (new students) info. Change teacher, update any contact info and select what info you would like in the Buzz Book
- Please do this even if you aren’t planning to purchase a Buzz Book this year. It only takes a minute or two and helps a ton.
Update info and purchase before September 13th, 2025. We will print extra copies but not many.

GATOR HOMEWORK CENTER SIGN-UP
This month our classroom counseling lessons in grades K-5 will focus on skills of resiliency, coping skills and how to get help for oneself and/or a friend. These lessons are intended to educate students on feelings of stress, worry, sadness, how to cope with such feelings, and how to ask for help if needed. Please talk with your child about these feelings, and reinforce appropriate coping strategies such as talking with a trusted adult, exercising, or doing an activity they enjoy. Please contact Mr. Brett Struck at bmstruck@mpsomaha.org or 402-715-2916 with any questions!
Abbott Student Health Screenings
In accordance with Nebraska State Statute, #173 NAC 7, Millard Public Schools are required to provide a health screening to some elementary students enrolled in our district. The screening is conducted to help identify health concerns at an early stage. Health screenings are not intended to be diagnostic, but to identify students with potential problems. Please see this Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services document identifying which screenings are given at each grade level. If you'd like to opt out, please contact our school RN, Julie Varner, at javarner@mpsomaha.org
POPCORN WITH THE PRINCIPAL
Each week we draw a Great Gator from every class to have popcorn with Mrs. Buckman! Congratulations to this week's Great Gators!

CAR LINE SAFETY
At school, we put many things in place to protect all children. Please respect our students and their safety by following the speed limit, adhering to our parking lot procedures, staying off your phone, and demonstrating patience at all times.
All students need to enter and exit alongside a curb.
Do not exit your vehicle to help your child out of the vehicle, or in the vehicle, unless you're parked in a designated area.
If there is room in front of your vehicle, please pull forward.
Many families also have a plan for a meeting spot after school. We encourage you to practice this before the first day of school! We know you always plan to be there, but sometimes things come up. It's also important to discuss with your child what happens if you're not there - and what they should do!
