The testing window runs from March 2, 2026 through May 1, 2026 (Reading/Math) or May 8, 2026 (Science).
Washburn has not yet scheduled a date for the MCAs. Please come back for more information.

Our goal with testing is to make it as least disruptive as possible and for students to test in an environment that is familiar to them.
Students in grade 10 will take the Reading MCA in their English class (AP Lit or English 10).
Students in grade 11 will take the Math MCA in their Social Studies classes (IB History or World Studies). This may seem odd, but it is because the majority of our math classes are mixed-grade and our Social Studies classes are determined by grade-level.
Students enrolled in Biology or IB Bio, Yr 1 will take the Science MCA in their Biology class.
*If students are absent on test day, or do not complete the MCA test on the designated day, Washburn will run makeups in late March or April. They will find out via their English, Social Studies, or Biology teacher.

Opt-Out Process
Parents and guardians can opt-out their student(s) of MCA testing.
An opt-out form must be completed each school year. If you are opting out of the MCAs, please click on the link below and return the form to Dr. Palmer.
Please complete the form and return it by 1 week before testing day.
