ACT-for-All Information

WHS ACT-FOR-ALL

All students in the Class of 2025 (current 11th graders) are invited to take the ACT-for-All at Washburn. This test is free to all 11th graders and they are automatically registered by Washburn staff.

This ACT will include all four subsections (English, Math, Reading & Science) and the Writing test. The Writing test is not optional. All students are expected to take the writing portion of the exam.

WHEN: THURSDAY - APRIL 18, 2024

ARRIVAL TIME: Testing rooms will open at 8:15 to ensure testing can begin at 8:30 AM. Please arrive at 8am. 

WHERE: WASHBURN HIGH SCHOOL, there will be multiple testing rooms. Click this link to find your room assignment for Thursday.

Students will take the April 18 test on their school-issued Chromebooks. It is important that all testers bring fully-charged school-issued Chromebooks to the test.

Timing Information

Standard Time Testing Information

Most students will test using "standard-time." Look at the document above for information regarding timing, number of questions, and what the test assesses.

Expect testing to run from 8:30 through 12:30/1:00.

Students will not have a lunch break, so they are encouraged to bring a light snack to consume during the break between the math and reading tests.

Students with approved accommodations or supports (those with IEPs, 504s, or EL services) may be approved by ACT to have time-and-half.

Expect testing to run from 8:30 through 3:00.

Students will not have a lunch break, so they are encouraged to bring a hefty snack to consume during the break between the math and reading tests and abother to consume between the science and writing tests.

Electronics Policy

Washburn cannot stress strongly enough how important it is that phones, tablets, and smartwatches are powered off and put away during testing.

Students will be dismissed if a phone makes noise or vibrates or if there is suspicion of phone use during the test. Students are unable to use their phone at all during testing; this includes the breaks.

Don't bring your phone, tablet, or smartwatch into the testing room.
