Minneapolis Public Schools is in the process of recruiting and selecting new members to join the Equity and Diversity Impact Assessment (EDIA) Committee. 

The EDIA is a set of reflective tools and guided processes for schools, departments, and district policy sponsors to evaluate policies, practices, and budgets that significantly impact student learning and resource allocation. 

The EDIA Committee is a key partner of MPS who supports the Full EDIA process and serves as representatives of their community and organizations as well as in the best interest of all MPS students and families by centering marginalized voices. The EDIA Committee is a voluntary advisory and consulting committee who reviews, assesses, discusses, and makes recommendations to improve district-level MPS policies, practices, and procedures that directly impact students and families. 

How long will the term of service on the committee be?

Committee members shall have an opportunity to serve up to two consecutive two-year terms. Terms begin following the annual meeting.  The time commitment could range between 2-10 hours a month. 

Can someone with limited English proficiency serve on the EDIA Committee?

We ask that committee members have sufficient English proficiency to review and provide feedback during a short turnaround time on documents, presentations, and reports that are most commonly available in English, as this will be a primary responsibility of the EDIA Committee.
