MPS Online is a mostly asynchronous school meaning that there is no face-to-face time or live classes required with teachers for almost all classes; work is done independently via guided lessons. Students receive a class schedule, link to orientation, and then login to their classes independently to begin working. This is different than what students experienced during Distance Learning.
Lessons and assignments are either on Google Classroom or a platform called Odysseyware and paced out throughout the quarter with recommended due dates. Our platforms are open 24/7 and students can work in the evenings, weekends, or whenever works for their schedule. Some ELL (English Language Learner) & Special Education classes require synchronous video classes.
Although we are asynchronous and have no standard class times, teachers are available to support via daily office hours on Google Meet, by email, or by messaging on the platforms; our MPS Online staff work normal school hours of 8AM-3PM on scheduled school days.
We have all MPS required core classes along with some Advanced Placement (AP) classes and many electives. We do not offer IB classes. Please see course catalog below.
