SUN, MOON, AND STARS

Sun, Moon, and Stars is normally our first study in science. We look forward to...

  • Observing the position of the sun and our shadows on a sunny morning and afternoon

  • Tracing our shadows on the sidewalk

  • Learning how the tilt of the earth creates the seasons

  • Hopefully driving across the 45th parallel this year if we can do a field trips maybe by the winter or spring

  • Comparing the time of sunset in Minneapolis and Duluth

  • Marveling at the size of our solar system

  • Observing patterns in the phases of the moon

  • Making a moon stick to record each full moon of the school year
