Learn to Skip Count

Third graders start the year knowing how to count by twos, fives, and tens. During third grade, students will have success with multiplication if they quickly learn to sing and count by multiples of threes, fours, sixes, sevens, eights, and nines. If you can do that, you will have a numbers patterns locked in your head that will help you long after third grade. They will help you with common denominators for fractions in grade five. They will help you factor quadratic equations in middle school.
