The following are scholarships that have been received in the counseling office. I would also encourage you to utilize the scholarship search engines listed below to explore additional scholarship options. Please check back regularly as this page continues to update throughout the year.
Local Scholarships
Local scholarships are made available by individuals and organizations in the Missouri Valley Community and surrounding areas. MVHS seniors are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Provided below, you will find links to important information regarding the local scholarship application process.
Universal Application Information
The primary application that will need to be completed is called the universal scholarship application. This will allow you to apply for multiple scholarships at the same time. Use either link below to fill out the application and return either in person or email to Ms. Campin by the due date (February 9th at 3:25 PM).

The list below are scholarships that have been awarded in the past. The presence of any scholarships listing below does not automatically mean it will be available for the current school year. Your Universal Application will only be used in consideration for scholarships that have been made available for the current school year.
Arlene Van Cleave Memorial ($250-$500) - Awarded based on citizenship, work ethic, and attending a 4-year school
Bill & Helen McIntosh Memorial ($500) - Awarded based on a variety of factors including character.
Bill & Lenora Lundeen Memorial Scholarship ($1500) - Awarded to two students with a 2.0 GPA or higher who plan to enroll in a career and technical education program. Financial need will be considered.
Bryan Jensen Memorial ($1000)
Joseph A. Walsh Scholarship ($500) - Awarded based on overall character and academic achievement.
Margaret Brod ($100) - Awarded to a student who has been involved in vocal music during their high school career.
Masonic Valley Lodge ($1000-$2500) - Awarded to students attending either a 2 year/trade program or 4 year college.
Missouri Valley Chamber of Commerce ($500)

Missouri Valley Swim Team Scholarship (amount varies) - Awarded to a student who is currently a member of the Missouri Valley Swim Team
PEO Ione Liddicoat Memorial ($500) - Awarded to a female student who will be attending a 2 or 4-year college or university and pursuing a career in education. Financial need is considered.
Roger Clausen Vocational Memorial ($500.00) - Awarded to a graduating senior who attends a 2-year vocational program.
Roger Kuhlmann Memorial ($1,000)- Awarded to a graduating senior planning to attend college.
Ronald Rief Memorial ($500) - Awarded to students pursuing farming, trade school, 2 or 4 year programs.
Travis Short Memorial ($5000)- Awarded to two graduating students planning to attend college or trade school full-time.
Washington County Bank ($500)- Awarded to two graduating seniors who are pursuing a 2 or 4 year college degree.
Mo. Valley Drifters Car Club Scholarship ($500)- Awarded to two graduating senior entering anything pertaining to an automotive, mechanical engineering, autobody, technical trade, etc.
Other MVHS Scholarships
The scholarships listed below require separate applications. Make sure to include your name and the name of the scholarship on each document that you submit for this purpose. The scholarships will open as a Google Doc. They are set up to be view only so you will have to make a copy in order to complete it. Directions for submission are listed on each scholarship application and application deadlines vary.
It is strongly recommended that students do not wait until the last day or even the last week to complete these applications. At the very least, read through the application requirements 3-4 weeks before they are due so that you know what information you will need to provide in order to apply. That may include a recommendation letter. Requests for recommendation letters should be made at least two weeks in advance of when you need them. Do not expect a staff member to write one for you with less than this amount of notice.

Order of the Eastern Star-Valley Chapter 26 ($1000) - February 10
Awarded to senior girls. Please include a copy of the universal application with your submission.
Latta Scholarship ($8,000-$14,000) - February 10
Awarded to Harrison County high school seniors that have been found by the selection committee to have a special needs and/or have demonstrated exceptional scholarship. Students planning to a trade school, 2-year university or 4 year institution are encouraged to apply.
First Baptist Church Memorial Scholarship ($1000) - March 1
Applicants must be officially admitted to or eligible for admission to an accredited university / college; enroll in a minimum of six (6) credit hours each semester of an award; have a minimum 2.5 grade point average; be a graduate of Missouri Valley High School, and have demonstrated ethical, moral, and spiritual behavior.
Fraternal Order of Eagles ($500) - March 1
Awarded based upon financial need, work ethic, leadership, reliability, maturity, and involvement in school and community. You will need to have a staff member or member of the community fill out the appraisal form.
Knights of Columbus ($500) - March 1
Awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding performance in Social Studies throughout high school. Financial need is also taken into consideration.
Missouri Valley Booster Club ($500) - March 1
Awarded to two senior males and two senior females. Students must have participated in a minimum of four years of competition in at least two sports, be in upper 50% of class, exhibit leadership, and have a least one parent who is a current and active members of the Missouri Valley Booster Club.
Missouri Valley Education Association ($250) - March 1
Awarded to one graduating senior who has decided to enter the field of education.
Missouri Valley Kiwanis ($2500) - March 1
Awarded to a graduating senior who is actively involved in Key Club and the community, and who will be attending an accredited school, college, or university for a period of two years or more.
Missouri Valley Wrestling Club - Syler Haase Memorial Scholarship (Amount Varies) - March 1
Awarded to one or two graduating seniors of Missouri Valley High School. The recipients are given priority in the following order: wrestlers, managers, and cheerleaders.
Faith Staska Memorial Scholarship ($5,000) - March 15th
Awarded to a student who is continuing their education in a trade, 2 or 4 year college. Who has a minimum of a 3.0 High School GPA and is involved in 2 or more extracurricular activities throughout their senior year.
Southwest Iowa Education Foundation ($1,000) - March 15
Awarded to a high school senior who has been accepted to a college or university
Wubbena C. Rand Endowed Scholarship ($1,000) - March 31
Awarded to seniors pursuing a medical/health field degree in college.
Velda R. Currie Endowed Scholarship ($1,000) - March 31
Awarded to students attending a vocational/technical education program that is less than 4 years in length.
Midstates Bank ($1000) - April 1
Awarded to a high school senior who has been accepted to a college or university.
Russ Kurth Foundation Scholarship ($1000)- April 12th
Awarded to seniors with a GPA between 2.50-3.48 that have been nominated by a peer or teacher. Anyone interested in the Scholarship should give the nomination form to a peer or teacher to fill out on their behalf and have it turned into the office. You are not able to recommend yourself.
Jimmy King Scholarship ($5,000-10,000) - April 13
There will be nine scholarships awarded to Missouri Valley graduation seniors. Five of the scholarships will be awarded to students who have been accepted to a four-year college or university. Two of the scholarships will be awarded to a student who has been accepted to a two-year community college or trade school. Two scholarships are available for students accepted into a less than two-year accredited trade school program. If you are awarded the Latta Scholarship, you will not be able to also be awarded under this one. However, applicants are encouraged to apply for both.
Randall P. Bush Memorial Scholarship (amount varies) - April 30
This award will go to graduating seniors directly related to a Vulcan Industries, Inc. employee (son, daughter, niece, nephew, grandchild)
Harrison County & Iowa Scholarships
Iowa Junior Chamber International Senate - Students with a GPA of 3.75 and above who will be full-time college students.
Harrison County Farm Bureau - Children of current Farm Bureau members who are majoring in a ag-related filed through a 2 or 4 year college. Scholarship is due on January 28th.
Grand Lodge of Iowa Masonic Scholarship - Awarded to 2 year or 4 year college freshman. Selected based on academic record, communication skills, need for financial assistance.
Harrison County Soil & Water Conservation - Awarded to students pursuing programs of study in agriculture or natural resources and conservation.
Iowa Automobile Dealers Association - Awarded to students entering automotive related studies: technician, body shop/collision repair, diesel, new vehicle sales, part sales, accounting or business administration.
GFWC/Iowa Federation of Women's Club - Based on volunteerism, achievement and financial need. Both male and females are eligible.
Harrison County REC - $1000 for 1 student at MV - 2 year or 4 year school.
Southwest Iowa Educational Foundation - MULTIPLE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES - All college bound students living in southwest Iowa are encouraged to apply.
CHI Missouri Valley Auxiliary Scholarship - For students entering the medical field of study in college.
CHI Medical Services Scholarship - For students entering a healthcare related major.
Iowa Association of Building Officials - For students entering into various programs listed on the application.
Better Business Bureau - For college bound seniors who embody ethical behavior and personal integrity.
ACSDIA Scholarship In Memory of Mark Hambleton - Given to the recipients pursuing ag or safety related fields in college or trade school.
Grand Commandery Knights Templar - For students with a 3.0 GPA or higher pursuing a 2 or 4 year college degree.
Robert D. Blue Scholarship - For Iowa residents who plan to go to an Iowa college.
Iowa PGA Foundation Charlie Burkhart - For college bound students interested in golf.
Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship - For students attending University of Iowa.
Jim Hallihan Character Legacy Scholarship - Awarded to one Iowa high school senior with community service, volunteering, involvement in religious organizations and schools and references of good character.
Iowa Environmental Health Association - Awarded to a student majoring in environmental health or related field.
International Association of Arson Investigators: Reynold C. Hentges Scholarship - Awarded to students going into the fields of: Fire Service, Fire Science, Law Enforcement, Law, Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Protection Technology or Insurance.
Iowa Western Foundation Scholarship - For students attending Iowa Western Community College.
First Friday Breakfast Club Scholarship - For students who have demonstrated leadership in efforts to increase education and understanding for LGBTQ+ persons and their allies.
Rick Kading Trade Foundation Scholarship - For students pursuing education in the skilled trades.
MCEC Technical Scholarship: Grand Lodge of Iowa - For students enrolling in a mechanical or trade school at an accredited Iowa community college.
Iowa 4-H Scholarships - For Iowa 4- H members.
Southwest Iowa REC Lineman Scholarship - For students who will be enrolling in lineman school or any other electrical trades program.
SFM Foundation - For students whose parents were killed or seriously injured in a workplace accident while working for an Iowa employer.
Iowa Student Loan - Random drawing Iowa residents in high school who have ISave 529 accounts.
Iowa National Guard - For students and spouses of Iowa National Guard.
Iowa Newspaper Foundation Scholarships - For students who are preparing for a career in the newspaper industry.
Keep Iowa Beautiful Scholarship - For seniors who plan to enroll in an Iowa college or university.
Conservation Districts of Iowa - For students interested in conservation and agriculture.
Masonry Institute of Iowa Foundation Scholarship - For students who are pursuing construction, architecture or engineering fields and will attend an Iowa institution.
Iowa Girls Golf Scholarships - For students who have a passion for golf and who will attend an Iowa institution.
Iowa Scholarship for the Arts - For outstanding high school seniors who excel in the arts and will be in a program leading to a career in the arts.
Iowa Games: Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship - Participation will be given to students who have participated in the Iowa Games.
