English 9

This course aims to increase students' abilities to understand and evaluate literature and improve reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. We will spend time going over skills for success in high school in general, academic honesty (including the use of Ai and other helpful tools) and study skills. 

 We will study literature, taking it apart to find out how it works and interacting with it on a personal level. We will write sentences, paragraphs, essays and work through the process of a research paper and work to improve grammar skills. We will experiment with poetry and reading for pleasure.

Throughout the course we will consider why and how Christians should interact with a broken world and how we can use English Language Arts skills in those endeavors.
