In the 'Power and Conflict' question there will only be one poem written out, so you must memorise quotations from every poem. One of the different skills in the 'Power and Conflict' poetry questions is: comparison. You must create a close comparison between the poems in every point or interpretation you make. Every paragraph should aim to include: a comparison between the two poems; quotations from both poems; analysis of language; form and structure within both poems; the writer's message; and links to context.
There are also unseen poems in this question. Your ability to make interpretations and analysis language of unseen quotations will also be tested.

Each interpretation you make needs to be a comparison between the two poems based on the statement or theme in the question. You must include quotations and analyse language, form, structure and context within your responses.
Section C Questions - Unseen Poetry
Part 1 - You will answer a question on an unseen poem [24 + 4 marks] (30 minutes)
You will be given one poem you have never seen before. You must analyse how the form, language techniques and structural devices are used to present the idea in the statement. You need to analyse how the message of the poem is used to present different ideas related to the question.Part 2 - You will answer one question comparing the first unseen poem with a second unseen poem [8 marks] (10 minutes)
