The questions

Literature Paper 2

2 Hours 15 Minutes

Exam Skills

Every analytical paragraph must include: an interpretation of the question; quotations; analysis of language and structural techniques; references to context; and an exploration of the writer's message. Remember for 'An Inspector Calls' there will be no extract so you need to memorise quotations.

In the 'Power and Conflict' question there will only be one poem written out, so you must memorise quotations from every poem. One of the different skills in the 'Power and Conflict' poetry questions is: comparison. You must create a close comparison between the poems in every point or interpretation you make. Every paragraph should aim to include: a comparison between the two poems; quotations from both poems; analysis of language; form and structure within both poems; the writer's message; and links to context.

There are also unseen poems in this question. Your ability to make interpretations and analysis language of unseen quotations will also be tested.

Section A Questions - 'An Inspector Calls'

Section B Questions - 'Power and Conflict Anthology' (Poetry)

Section C Questions - Unseen Poetry
