Strengthening the Resiliency of the Monterey Bay
This unique committee will have the look and feel of an MUN debate, but participants will represent themselves and speak in the first person. Students with a strong interest in Marine Conservation and local environmental action are encouraged to apply.
Grades: 6-12
Prerequisites
Attended/participated in one MUN conferece
Complete required background reading
Come with a (max) two minute opening statement
Student Assignments: Students will not represent an assigned country, but rather represent themselves.
Rules of Procedure: The committee will be run using familiar MUN-style debate procedure. Overseen by two Chairs, the committee will draft a resolution using unmoderated and moderated caucuses.
Work Product: Students will draft a working resolution with recommendations to local leaders and environmental orgs on how to improve the health and resiliency of the Monterey Bay.
