Progress goal reflection:
I feel like a did a fairly good job accomplishing my respect goal so far this year. I have made sure that I only take the lead of a project if no one else wants to and I always make sure to encourage my fellow students to do their very best at all times.
Being kind and having admiration for someone or something that is accomplished.
My goal for Respect: My goal is to always be listening to the person who is presenting, and to lead other students to work collaboratively in projects; but to not do all the work by myself and let other people do the work even if it is not to my perfection standard.
I can accomplish this goal by making sure that when we work as partners I will let someone else take the lead during a project and make sure that I am always listening and not commenting even if something exciting is going on in the classroom.
Progress goal reflection:
This year I have had worked extra of my integrity by making sure that I get all of work done on time and I have made sure that even if other people around me are playing games that I do not.
Admitting to something and/or being honest and having moral admiration.
My goal for Integrity: My goal is to be better at holding others accountable for their actions and to be a more positive role model for the other students.
I can accomplish this goal by making sure that I am paying attention and also saying “hi” to other students in the hall even if I don’t know them or I have a just opinion about them.
Progress goal reflection:
Effort is something that every person can choose to use but many do not apply extra effort into their work. This year I have made sure to but extra effort into everything I do, be it school, or nutcracker, or horse back riding.
Effort is being determined and pushing through to do your best
My goal for Effort: My goal for respect is to turn in all of my work on time and to the best of my ability, to try to get an exceeds whenever possible, and to make sure that I ask for help and when I ask for help I do it only when I have already tried my hardest.
I can accomplish this goal by making sure that I focus completely during class, set out enough time to do my homework, and pay attention when the teacher is talking so that I know what is happening at all times.
Progress goal reflection:
Refinement is not something that comes fairly naturally to me and I try to apply it to every thing that I do. If I were to improve one thing about my refinement I try to do it in stages instead of all at once and just randomly.
To get rid of extra or unnecessary items
My goal for Refinement: My goal for refinement is to is to make sure that I get help from the teachers when it is offered, to read my work aloud one or two times before I submit it, and to take my classmates suggestions and try them out.
I can accomplish this goal by making sure that when I am at school I get help form my teachers, and classmates, and when I am at home I ask my mom for help after I have done my best job because as the writer I have a biased opinion.
My eight grade lens: Our lens for eight grade is to have an impact on our future and in our school. Our impact could be about our future or about the way that we want to leave the school and its students, or even just how we want to impact our extracurricular activities. For my impact I want to leave the school a better place than it was before. That means saying hi to students in the halls, having a positive attitude, and encouraging other students to follow the Habits of Heart and Mind.
My resilient community member is my horse back riding coach, Francie; effort is the habit of heart and mind that she shows the most. She is a hard working seventy two year old women who runs a barn were she takes care of twelve horses and four hound dogs on a daily basis. Francie shows refinement when she rides, she is always refining what she does in order to accomplish the task she is doing to the very best of her ability. I would love to be like Francie when I grow up because she is a hard working women who is incredibly independent and caring.
