15th Amendment
My key event made it so that any US citizen could not be prevented from voting based on race, gender, or previous condition of servitude. My artwork depicts African Americans going to a poll box where a box that would have carried oranges to a grocery store before being used as a ballot drop box. I used the following words and phrases in my work: poll, ballot, diversity, segregation, vote, justice, freedom, poverty, human, citizens, and rights. I chose these words because they show both sides of the argument, they show that side after the 15th amendment was passed; they also portray the side of things before the amendment was passed. I showed refinement by adding to my work while also making it more representative of my topic. I showed effort by using different images to make my picture as realistic as possible. Using all of these techniques I was able to create a piece of art that represents the 15th amendment and why it was so important to combat segregation.

Description
Effort
My goal for effort is to always focus in class so that all the effort i put in I get back through the imaginary and creativeness of my final work.
Refinement
My goal for refinement is to refine my work so that it is as simple but also as complex as it can possibly be.
Integrity
I will use integrity by turning in all my work on time and making sure that I tell my teacher if anything happens to her materials.
Respect
I will show respect by taking care of the materials and making sure that I am always polite to my teachers.
I will develop the craft of drawing by free drawing when I get the chance and letting things go if anything happens.
I will learn how to envision what I want to create and if my artwork does not go to plan I will envision how to make it look more specific.
