E.L.A

In E.LA we are reading the book Charlie Hernandez. In E.L.A my beginning of the year goal is vocabulary I am going to improve it by putting better vocab words in my writing and when i’m reading I can find vocab words and ask someone what it means if I don't know.

My Goal is going pretty good, although I haven't been writing that much but when I do I think I put pretty good vocab into it.

I am going to continue with this goal because I still do have some things in it to improve.

Two roads final project

For this project I created and extra chapter for the book two roads.

Learning target: I can make inferences about the characters, draw conclusions about the plot, and apply a plot diagram to my creative writing.

Some things I had to do to complete it were looking back in the book and seeing what peoples names were and I also had to make sure to follow the plot.

Charlie Hernandez Summative Assignment

For this assignment we compare and contrast myths from the story we were reading and from the original myths.

For this assignment I think I used a lot of respect because it was a group work project and I respected my partners ideas and solutions.

Debate research

For this assignment I used a lot of refinement because I had to make sure that all of it made sense and sounded good.

Argumentative Essay

I think the most challenging thing in this essay was doing so many different parts more than one time

because you had to keep track of the things you already wrote and then if you couldn't find another quote

that supports the one you already had then you have to research more.

I think I was strongest with the body paragraphs I put a lot of work into by researching extra things to

support my quotes. I also think that I did a good job explaining all of my quotes that I had because I made

sure that my explanation made sense and was clear.

If I explained a argumentative essay to a future sixth grader I would tell them to use their debate research to help with their body paragraphs rather than redoing all of

their research and if they have good debate research then it helps a lot with writing the body paragraphs

because then you already have all the things you will use on it.

I think I used the habit of heart and mind integrity a lot in this assignment because I could have just looked up all the questions but instead I researched on my own making sure all of my information was true.
