In ELA, we are reading the book Charlie Hernandez and the league of shadows. My beginning of the year goal for ELA was to work on reading and working on vocabulary every night and so I can do well on my next reading diagnostic. I did this is by working on my vocabulary every night and also reading more so I can achieve my goal.

I definitely achieved my goal because my vocabulary has gone up a lot in my i-ready scores. I will continue to do my vocabulary lessons on IXL to improve even more to get maybe a 7th grade vocabulary score.

This is my book Whiteout I love this book and it is my favorite book I've read this year. This is such a great book and this has helped me want to read more.

For this project my partner was Ryne and we made a podcast together. This project was about the book Two Roads and we had to talk about different events in the story that we checked back in the book. The learning target for this assignment was I can recognize how characters change/grow in a book, identify themes in a book, discuss how an important chapter from a book connects to a theme from the book. I think me and Ryne did a good job on this learning target but I was out for a long time because of the flu so we could unfortunately not record it so we had to work even harder because we could not communicate that well. I think this learning could be helpful in the future for a possible group work job. How I think that planning the project in and how it could help me in the future is that it could help me think about ideas for future group work. I think time management could help me in the future because It will teach me how to use my time wisely while I'm doing something important.

What I did for this project was a graphic novel that described a new chapter in the story with the league's next mission. This was really fun creating these characters in the pages of the novel. I think I used effort in this assignment because It was hard working by myself in this assignment but I used effort in putting it into this assignment with lots of creating characters and making text bubbles.

How I prepared for my debate is that I researched a lot about our topic which was how Social Media can make a positive impact. We also did a lot thinking about what to say for the rebuttal. Why I did this is because I think this was one of the most important things that you have to do in this argument. We did win the argument but it was sooo close! It was tied so Mrs.Evans had to make the choice who one and she picked us. Why we won was because we had a great point about COVID 19 and our rebuttal was very good. I think I used to take ownership because I did great on my rebuttal and I took ownership on making that good.

The most changeling part of this was not being at school and not being able to get help because I was sick. It was challenging to do this by myself and really get it perfect. I was able to get it done but it was really hard. I felt stronger in the body paragraphs because I had great evidence and it was very easy to explain the evidence. I also write these very fast so that made it better than my topic sentence. I would say just don't stress because when I heard we were doing an essay I thought it was going to be hard but it is actually easy. I would also recommend that it is important to check over your spelling!
