My score was a 540 which put me in advanced math which was a big achievement because now I can go into math 2 and hopefully math 3 in my freshman year.I scored in the 96th percentile and had my highest score in evaluating equations and my lowest score in geometry. By the end of the year in Armenia I hope to score in late 9th or early 10th grade level so I can go into math 3 in freshman year. I will accomplish this by trying to get better at geometry.
An Excerpt from Jo Boaler’s Mathematical Mindsets explains that every time you make a mistake it triggers one of two reactions in your brain. The first reaction increases electricity because of the conflict of a right and wrong answer. The second one is your brain acknowledging that you have made a mistake and figuring out how to fix it. This proves that making a mistake is critical for your brain growth. This also means that classrooms that are mistake-friendly have a better chance of the students putting effort into math.
This Quest was on exponential decay and growth through functions. I did not have any knowledge of this topic before this test so I had to study hard before it. I got a meet but I failed to answer the exceeds question. My goal for next one is to get an exceeds.
This Quest was on algebraic equations in function notation. I also had limited background knowledge on this topic so I had to study beforehand. I originally got an approaching on this test but then fixed my mistakes and resubmitted to get a Meets. My goal for the next test is not to have to do any corrections.
