The central great plains are rich in plants and animals. The Bison, a well known and important animal, is key to shaping the grasslands. Bison also create the habitat for other animals by compacting soil/dirt, making dents (wallows )that can fill up with water. These wallows make great pools of fresh water and breeding pools for amphibians. It eats herbaceous grasses and sedges, and helps balance plant populations. For example, bison grazing promotes the growth of the yellow field flower (Daffodil ) and promotes biodiversity. The yellow field flower keeps bugs such as aphid, thrip, small green leafhopper, whitefly, and tobacco whitefly away from itself. It does this because it doesn't provide cover and shelter. Instead, the petals start to bend backward.
I learned that a strand of DNA needed to be 100 leaders long be readable but thanks to new technology it only has to be 30. DNA also gets destroyed after time and becomes unusable after a million years.
