In this doc, it is our research for our exhibition. What we researched were the tribes who lived in this area, when humans first got here, the climate, what they ate, what they wore, their tools and weapons that they used, what they traded, what arts and crafts they did, and their religion.
This is the finished product of the research that I was doing on the left. All of the slides on the slideshow will be pasted onto the side of a box that has our exhibition on it. My exhibition is describing the rock layers in the great basin on the side of the box and putting a model of the tribe's home and landscape on the top of the box.
I studied the great basin region, and it was pretty fun. The exhibition went pretty well, and my parents seemed impressed. My favorite part was definitely making the model because it was really fun. Some challenges that I faced were one member in my group didn't help as much as the rest of us. It was kind of a pain in the butt, but it all went pretty well in the end. I think I definitely achieved my group work goal.
What we did for this was we went on a field trip to Chimney Rock and it was really fun. My favorite things about this trip was seeing fossils in the ground, learning about what tools ancient puebloans in this area used, and finally weaving like native Americans. One thing that helped me grow confidence on this trip was that I weave a lot at home, and when we were here I weaved in front of people and got a lot of compliments for how good I was at it.
