Most people think that we are either born math people or non math people, this is not true math is not something that people are born to be good or bad at but rather a skill that can be learned and improved. Mistakes are important because our brain sparks and learns from mistakes even when we don't know it, and what is so crazy about this is that we learn from these mistakes without even correcting them yet! Studies show that is is important for mistakes to be valued in classrooms so students feel less pressure and more open to making mistakes. right now, I would not say that math is my strong suit, I don't hate it but prefer the creativity of humanities. I would like to improve my math mindset, and to do so, I need to set realistic goals, the main thing I want to focus on is positivity towards my own mistakes. As I have already mentioned, mistakes are vital for leaning, however I often see them as failures. This may take time, but I would like to start viewing may my mistakes in the classroom as an opportunity to improve rather than bringing myself down, this help me create a more positive relationship with math.
Geometry Long-Term Learning Target: I can apply my knowledge of rigid and non-rigid transformations to solve geometric problems related to congruence, similarity and scale factor.
Algebra Long-Term Learning Target: I can apply my understanding of proportional relationships, linear relationships, systems of equations and functions to reason about real-world scenarios.
Both of these quizzes had similar content, they were about translations, rotations, reflections, rigid transformations, and congruent shapes. I received the score of a 4/5 on both of these quizzes, this is equal to a meets, I think I got this score because I paid attention and stayed on task in class, completed my Delta math homework on time, and used my cool downs to practice and make sure I understand the topics that are going to be on the test. I feel confident on this topic in math class and feel that I am prepared for the unit test on Friday. On quiz # 3 I got a 4/5 or a meets, because I studied using delta a math. Next time I want to get a 5/5 by studing the night before.
This quiz was about dilations, slope, proportional relationships and linear relationships. I studied using delta math, math cool downs and our work books, I received a 5/5 which is the goal I set for myself last quiz. I am proud of this grade and I think that finishing my delta math at the beginning of the week and not putting it off helped the concepts to stick with me.
This quiz was all about slope, coordinate pairs and finding slope with equations. I got a score of 5/5 on this quiz. I think i got this score because I fully understood what the questions were asking and studied using delta math. Next algebra quiz, I would like to also get a 5/5, but most importantly I want to make sure I fully understand.
quiz was all about systems of equations, and graphing lines. I got a score of 3/5 on this quiz. This is my first approaching This school year. I do think that I understood these topics because looking back, I know the answers to the problems i got wrong. I think I got this score because I think I got this score because I was careless wale taking the quiz and rushed through it. Next algebra quiz, I would like to get a 5/5, but most importantly I want to make sure I fully understand.
In this test, we showed what we know about translations, rotations, reflections, congruence, and finding angle measures. On the workbook check, I got a meets for participating in all of the lessons and finishing everything in the book that I was expected and asked to. On the unit test I got a meets+ and got 13/14 questions correct, I got this grade because I took my time, wrote down my work, used my practice test and delta math to study and showed what I learned this unit. Next unit, I want to push myself to get an exeeds, which would require me getting all of the questions correct.
In this test, we showed what we know about dialations, similar figures and finding angle measures. On the workbook check, I got a meets+ for participating in all of the lessons and finishing everything in the book that I was expected and asked to. On the unit 2 test got a meets or 14/16 questions correct. I got this grade because I took my time, wrote down my work, used my practice test and delta math to study and showed what I learned this unit. Next unit, I want to push myself to get an exceeds, which would require me getting all of the questions correct.Unit 2 test
In this test, we showed what we know about algebra, equations and slope. On the workbook check, I got a meets for participating in all of the lessons and finishing everything in the book that I was expected and asked to. On the unit 3 test got a meets or 16/19 questions correct. This was a colaborotive assesment, which meant we got to work with a chosen group to complete this test. got this grade because I took my time, wrote down my work, used my practice test and delta math to study and showed what I learned this unit. Next unit, I want to push myself to get an exceeds, which would require me getting all of the questions correct.
In this assessment we showed what we have learned in the first half of our algebra unit, I got a meets on this test. I was a little worried before talking this test because even though I felt like studied well but still didn't feel fully prepared.
In this assessment we showed what we learned in all of our overall algebra units. originally, I got a score of 9.5/17 because I was sick when we were learning the final lessons for this unit and I was not prepared. I used the habit of heart of mind refinement to do test corrections on this test and overall got a score of 17/17 or a meets. Next time I could study a little more if I am absent just to make sure I fully understand the concepts. On my workbook I got a meets wich means I did all of the lessons expected of me. unit 4 assessment & workbook
this quiz was about how we can apply functions and rules to imputs to recive outputs. I got a score of 5/5 because I made sure to do all of my delta math and I also made sure I fully understood during class.
This test was all about finding volumes of cylinders, spheres, and cones. we also learned how to represent input output pairs on a graph and determine if they were functions or not. on the workbook i got a meets+ because it was very detailed and thorough. On the test, I got a meets(11/15), I got this because I studied my delta math and used my note cards.
This quiz was about exponents and the exponent rules we have learned so far. I got a score of 4/5, which is not my best. I could have studied more using delt amath and the open notes that I took.
At the beggining of the year assessment, I scored grade 7 (514) which is ok because we took this assessment the first week of school and hadn't learned any 8th grade standards. I scored 73 percentile. My highest domain was Number and operations. By the end of the year, I would like to get 536 witch is my stretch goal for this year.
