The Graphics 2 iMac at Abingdon has been having audio issues. Temporarily we (the ministry support PDs) have installed an analog line until we can investigate further.
What does that mean for me?
It means you'll have more stable audio but you just have to double check a couple of things before your service. Follow the steps below to check things out and/or troubleshoot things.
Because this solution is analog and not the "normal" audio out, we have to double check that the computer is sending audio out to the right place.
Click the audio settings button at the top of the screen on the iMac. (usually a small speaker icon or a small headphones icon)
Make sure that "headphones" is selected.
If you don't see "headphones" as an option, make sure the 1/8" (or aux) cable is plugged in to the iMac.
-----
Make sure audio is all the way up by pressing the volume up button on the keyboard.
On the CL3 console you should be using channels 59 & 60, they're labeled "GFX2DIL" and "GFX2DIR."
If you haven't been trained on audio, please stop here and call the campus Production Director.
The ProAVDI2 is plugged into the headphone jack on the back of the iMac.
It's on Channels 59 & 60, labeled as "GFX2DIL" and "GFX2DIR."
It's patched to Omni 3 & 4 on the console.
