How to Change a CO2 Hazer

After reading this article, you should be able to successfully and safely change a CO2 tank at ANY Mountain Campus!

It should be noted that CO2 is an inert gas and is not dangerous.

Supplies:

Haze Wrench

Teflon Tape

Haze Juice

Step One:

Tighten CO2 jug handle all the way down.

Step Two:

Using Hazer Wrench, loosen bronze nut on CO2 tank and remove regulator.

DO NOT turn black nob on regulator.

(The regulator is the thing with the two gauges.)

Step Three:

Remove old tank & replace with new tank.

Remove plastic cover on new tank & wrap threads with Teflon tape in a CLOCKWISE direction.

This will help seal the regulator to the CO2 tank.

Step Four:

Reattach regulator by matching the sides of nut on regulator to the sides of nut on CO2 tank and tighten with the wrench.

(Pro Tip: If you are having trouble getting the threads to bite, push the regulator tight to the tank and spin the nut on the regulator counter-clockwise until you feel it "jump" in. Then start turning clock-wise.)

Make sure gauges are legible.

Step Five:

Using the valve on the top of the CO2 tank, open the tank all the way up.

You should hear tank pressurize and see gages read pressure.

STOP! Listen closely for any leaks. It'll sound like hissing. If you hear hissing, close the CO2 tank and start back at step 3.

Using the switch on the bottom of the back side of the Hazer, turn it off - wait 10 seconds - and turn it back on.

CO2 line from bottom of purple hazer to regulator should never be undone!
