Turtle Lake Elementary School

Mrs. Anderson is in her 14th year of teaching elementary orchestra, and her 5th year teaching orchestra in Mounds View. Mrs. Anderson taught elementary orchestra in the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage school district for 8 years, and 1 year teaching elementary and middle school orchestra in the Faribault school district. Mrs. Anderson plays the violin and performs with the Bloomington Symphony, and is a member of the Suzuki Association of Minnesota. Mrs. Anderson teaches at Turtle Lake Elementary.
Irondale High School

Ms. Arnold has taught orchestra for 24 years and is in her 11th year in the Mounds View school district, prior to that she taught grades 4-12 at Mounds Park Academy. Her primary string instrument is violin but is also a pianist and flutist. She has played with local community groups in the Twin Cities area and currently serves on the board of St. Joseph's School of Music. She is currently the Orchestra Director at Irondale High School.

Ms. Elliott is a graduate of Augsburg University in Minneapolis, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Music Education. A Minnesota native, Ms. Elliott grew up in the north metro and began playing bass at 11 years old and quickly realized that music was her calling! Her favorite thing about being an orchestra teacher is helping students learn new skills and grow in their musicality. Other than playing and listening to music, Ms. Elliott loves to travel, take long trips to the dog park with her pack of rescue dogs, and watch way too much Netflix.
Edgewood Middle School, Sunnyside Elementary School

Mr. Hummel has taught orchestra for 7 years, and is entering his 6th year with Mounds View Public Schools. His primary instrument is the double bass which he performs and teaches privately in the Twin Cities area.
Chippewa Middle School

Dr. Keeler is a passionate cellist, educator, and composer. Praised for his "Lush" and "Energetic" playing, Daniel has performed across the United States as a soloist, orchestral, and collaborative musician. As a cellist and conductor he has established himself as a pedagogue with numerous masterclasses and lectures at schools and clinics across the country, and performed with groups ranging from Trampled by Turtles to the National Contemporary Ballet. Daniel currently is a board member with the Minnesota String Orchestra Teachers Association (MNSOTA).
As a cellist Dr. Keeler has performed with Thursday Musical, the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra (DSSO), and the Minnesota Orchestra. In addition to being an orchestra Director with Mounds View Public Schools since 2019, Daniel is a professor at Concordia University - St. Paul, a former cello professor at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and teaches as a private lesson instructor to students of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
Chippewa Middle School

Brian Larson began his teaching career in Mounds View Public Schools in 2006. He has worked at Pinewood, Sunnyside, and Island Lake Elementaries, Chippewa Middle School, and Mounds View High School. Brian currently serves as a director and lesson instructor for the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade orchestras, as well as the director of the Chamber Orchestra at Chippewa Middle School. He joined the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies artistic team in 2022 and conducts the Symphonia East Orchestra. Brian earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Minnesota in 2005 and his Master of Arts in Education from Augustana University in 2019.
Mounds View High School, Valentine Hills Elementary School

Ms. Rogness has taught orchestra for 18 years. She is in her 5th year in the Mounds View school district, and prior to that she taught for Robbinsdale Area Schools. She is primarily a viola player, and has played with the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in Minneapolis and various chamber ensembles around town. She also plays the Norwegian hardanger fiddle with the hardanger group in the Twin Cities.

Mr. Shogren is a multifaceted cellist, conductor, composer, and producer whose style and energy have been sought after across the United States. He is currently the Orchestra Director at Mounds View High School in Arden Hills, Minnesota, where he teaches over 250 students in 6 different ensembles.
In 2022, he was appointed as the conductor of the Repertory Orchestra with Minnesota Youth Symphonies. Shogren has been a guest clinician and conductor for several national and state-level festivals and conferences. In 2019, he was the recipient of The Master Teacher: School Orchestra Award from the Minnesota String & Orchestra Teachers Association.
Bel Air Elementary School, Highview Middle School

Mrs. Tura has taught middle school and elementary orchestra for the past twelve years. She lived and taught in Iowa until relocating to the Twin Cities with her family last summer. Mrs. Tura’s primary instrument is cello, and she loves to perform with local orchestras. She is excited to join the Mounds View Orchestra family this year at Highview Middle School and Bel Air Elementary School.
Island Lake Elementary School, Pinewood Elementary School

Juli Vig has been teaching Orchestra in the Mounds View District for 23 years. She is an active freelance musician in the twin cities and is a member of the Rochester Symphony. Ms. Vig has over 30 years experience of teaching private lessons. She has served on the boards of the Suzuki Association of Minnesota(SAM) and Minnesota String Orchestra Teachers Association (MNSOTA). She currently teaches at Island Lake and Pinewood Elementary Schools. Juli has also served as the Summer Orchestra Coordinator for the past 3 years.
