Michael Coughlin from the Minnesota Institute for Astrophysics at UMn Twin Cities gave a public lecture "Eyes and Ears on Spacetime" about the hunt for the optical signals of gravitational wave events.
There were SCOPES cookies for refreshment after the lecture, with the SCOPES logo on them!
It was raining. No telescope action was possible outside. Some of us were treated to performances of "Night Songs" by James Flaten from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities., a wonderful combination of images, music, poems about space, earth, the sky, and caring about it all.
