Session 5
Aanakwadikwe Winonah, Bell Museum MN and Misaabekong Ojibwe Immersion Educator, spoke about Ojibwe astronomy knowledge and rituals, and the importance of the anishinaabe language for the construction and expression of scientific knowledge.
A talk about outreach by the Goodsell Observatory at Carleton College by Josiah Tusler, Thomas Lund, and Roan Arendtsz, and an overview of the Minnesota Space Grant Consortium by James Flaten rounded out the conference.
The pictures from Saturday do not do justice to the day, nor can they convey the work of all the campus people who supported this conference. There also was a lunch gathering outside, with solar viewers and sunspotters. Finally, the sun had appeared.
